Oligopeptide P11-4 is an 11-amino-acid peptide designed at the University of Leeds to self-assemble into fibres when conditions change, for example when it enters the slightly acidic, calcium-rich pores of an early enamel lesion. The resulting scaffold attracts calcium phosphate and is meant to guide remineralisation from within. It is the active ingredient in professional Curodont products. Randomised studies report reductions in the size of early, non-cavitated lesions, but the evidence does not extend to established cavities.
