Gonadorelin Acetate

Authorised product

Synthetic GnRH peptide

Research material. Not for human or animal consumption.

Research overview

Gonadorelin is synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone with exactly the natural sequence, pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH2. Natural GnRH is released in pulses, and that pattern matters: pulsed gonadorelin from a small pump restores normal LH and FSH release in people with hypothalamic GnRH deficiency, while continuous exposure would shut the pituitary down. It is also used for pituitary stimulation tests and widely in veterinary reproduction.

Questions about Gonadorelin Acetate

PRODUCT QUESTIONS
What is Gonadorelin Acetate?

Gonadorelin Acetate is the acetate salt of the natural ten residue hormone GnRH. Its N terminal pyroglutamate and C terminal glycinamide protect it partly from enzymes, but its half life is still only a few minutes.

What research has been published on Gonadorelin Acetate?

Clinical studies used pulsatile gonadorelin to induce ovulation and puberty in hypothalamic GnRH deficiency and evaluated GnRH stimulation tests for puberty disorders. In veterinary science it is studied for ovulation timing in cattle. It also serves as the reference for designing long acting analogues.

What batch documentation should accompany Gonadorelin Acetate?

Gonadorelin Acetate: Ask for the COA and analytical reports for the batch being quoted. Ask for mass spectrometry, HPLC purity, peptide content and acetate content, and check that the pyroglutamate N terminus is confirmed.

How should Gonadorelin Acetate storage conditions be assessed?

Store Gonadorelin Acetate dry at 2°C to 8°C or −20°C, protected from light. Solutions are vulnerable to enzymes and microbes, so use sterile technique and keep them cold.
