Deslorelin
Synthetic GnRH agonist peptide
Research material. Not for human or animal consumption.
Research overview
Deslorelin is a potent GnRH agonist, closely related to triptorelin, with D-tryptophan at position 6 and an ethylamide C-terminus. Its main use is veterinary: Suprelorin implants suppress fertility in male dogs and ferrets for six months or longer, offering a reversible alternative to surgical castration, and other formulations induce ovulation in horses. Human research has been limited to small endocrine studies, including in central precocious puberty.

Questions about Deslorelin
PRODUCT QUESTIONSWhat is Deslorelin?
Deslorelin is a nine residue GnRH analogue with D tryptophan at position 6 and an ethylamide at the C terminus. It is usually supplied as the acetate salt.
What research has been published on Deslorelin?
Veterinary studies measured testosterone suppression and fertility in dogs, cats and ferrets, ovulation induction in mares, and population control in wildlife. Limited human studies examined pituitary suppression. Research also covers controlled release implant design.
What batch documentation should accompany Deslorelin?
Deslorelin: Ask for the COA and analytical reports for the batch being quoted. Ask for mass spectrometry, HPLC purity, chiral purity at the D tryptophan and the acetate content.
How should Deslorelin storage conditions be assessed?
Store Deslorelin dry and refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C, protected from light, since tryptophan residues are light sensitive. Solutions should be kept cold.
