HGH Fragment 177–191
PreclinicalHuman growth hormone fragment peptide
Research material. Not for human or animal consumption.
Research overview
HGH Fragment 177-191 is a short peptide from the C-terminal end of human growth hormone. In the 1990s, researchers at Monash University reported that this region influenced fat breakdown in rodents without growth hormone's effects on growth or blood sugar. A modified version with an added tyrosine, AOD9604, was developed for obesity, but human trials did not show meaningful weight loss and development stopped. Most remaining evidence comes from rodents and isolated fat tissue.
Laboratory, computational, ex vivo or animal model research is the main evidence base.
Questions about HGH Fragment 177–191
PRODUCT QUESTIONSWhat is HGH Fragment 177–191?
HGH Fragment 177–191 is a synthetic peptide matching residues 177 to 191 of human growth hormone, including a disulfide loop between two cysteines. It does not activate the growth hormone receptor.
What research has been published on HGH Fragment 177–191?
Studies in obese rodents and isolated adipose tissue measured fat breakdown, fat synthesis and body weight. The related compound AOD9604 reached human obesity trials without significant weight loss. Claims beyond those findings are not supported by controlled human data.
What batch documentation should accompany HGH Fragment 177–191?
HGH Fragment 177–191: Ask for the COA and analytical reports for the batch being quoted. Ask for mass spectrometry confirming the oxidised disulfide form, HPLC purity, peptide content, and a clear statement of whether the material is the fragment or AOD9604.
How should HGH Fragment 177–191 storage conditions be assessed?
Store HGH Fragment 177 to 191 lyophilised at −20°C, sealed and protected from light. Avoid reducing conditions and alkaline pH, which disturb the disulfide loop.
