Hexarelin
Early humanSynthetic growth hormone secretagogue peptide
Research material. Not for human or animal consumption.
Research overview
Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue, His-D-2-methyl-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, closely related to GHRP-6. It is one of the most potent of its class at releasing growth hormone through the ghrelin receptor, but it also raises cortisol and prolactin, and the response weakens with repeated dosing. Unusually, it also binds CD36, a scavenger receptor in the heart, which prompted research into cardioprotective effects separate from growth hormone.
Limited, exploratory, early phase or small human studies have been identified.
Questions about Hexarelin
PRODUCT QUESTIONSWhat is Hexarelin?
Hexarelin is a six residue peptide that differs from GHRP 6 by a methyl group on the D tryptophan. It has an amidated C terminus and two D amino acids.
What research has been published on Hexarelin?
Human studies measured short term growth hormone, cortisol and prolactin responses, including how the response diminishes with continued use. Animal studies of heart injury and failure examined cardioprotective effects linked to CD36 binding rather than growth hormone.
What batch documentation should accompany Hexarelin?
Hexarelin: Ask for the COA and analytical reports for the batch being quoted. Ask for mass spectrometry distinguishing it from GHRP 6, HPLC purity, chiral purity for the D residues and acetate content.
How should Hexarelin storage conditions be assessed?
Store Hexarelin lyophilised at −20°C and protected from light, since its two tryptophans are sensitive to light and oxidation. Keep solutions cold and use them promptly.
