ARA-290 / Cibinetide

Early human

Synthetic erythropoietin derived peptide (non erythropoietic)

Research material. Not for human or animal consumption.

Research overview

ARA-290, now called cibinetide, is an 11-amino-acid peptide modelled on helix B of erythropoietin (EPO). EPO protects tissues through an 'innate repair receptor' formed from the EPO receptor and the beta common receptor (CD131). ARA-290 activates that protective pathway without stimulating red blood cell production, avoiding EPO's clotting risks. Small early-phase trials explored small fibre neuropathy in sarcoidosis, diabetic macular oedema and metabolic markers. No authorised indication exists.

Questions about ARA-290 / Cibinetide

PRODUCT QUESTIONS
What is ARA-290 / Cibinetide?

ARA 290 (cibinetide) is a synthetic peptide derived from erythropoietin's helix B region used in neuropathy and exploratory ophthalmic/metabolic research.

What research has been published on ARA-290 / Cibinetide?

ARA-290 / Cibinetide is an investigational 11 amino acid peptide derived from erythropoietin that protects tissue without stimulating red blood cell production. Small early phase human studies have explored sarcoidosis associated small fiber neuropathy, diabetic macular oedema, metabolic endpoints and neurocognitive effects. Samples were small and findings preliminary; no authorised indication or regulator label has been identified, and the research does not establish clinical efficacy for a catalogue material.

What batch documentation should accompany ARA-290 / Cibinetide?

ARA-290 / Cibinetide: Ask for the COA and analytical reports for the batch being quoted. Ask for mass spectrometry confirming the N terminal pyroglutamate, HPLC purity, peptide content and acetate content.

How should ARA-290 / Cibinetide storage conditions be assessed?

Store ARA 290 lyophilised at −20°C, dry and protected from light. It has a very short half life in blood and limited stability in solution, so prepare solutions immediately before use.
